Dominican Republic Equipment Donations

Many thanks to all families that recently donated used equipment.  Board Member Ted Barker-Hook travelled to the Dominican Republic to distribute the donations in Santo Domingo and San Jose de los Llanos.

Exactly half of was donated went to each location.  For the highest quality, most valued donations (cleats, catcher's equipment, the highest quality bats), there was a draft where coaches took turns selecting items.

We hope this will continue annually, so feel free to hold onto items your kids have outgrown for future donations!

New Little League Bat Regulations for 2018

As of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard was implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that are approved for use for the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity starting on January 1, 2018 (see exception below for tee ball bats)

There are NO changes to the bat standard or regulations for Little League Softball®.

For additional information on the new USA Baseball Bat Standard for 2018, including a link to the list of approved bats, please consult the USA Baseball Bat Standard FAQ.  Essentially, any bat that has the USA Baseball logo on it (pictured above), including those that are 2 5/8" in diameter are permitted in 2018.

Tee Ball Bats

Tee Ball bats (26" or shorter) that were produced and/or purchased prior to the implementation of the new standard can be certified using an Approved Tee Ball Sticker via the USA Baseball Tee Ball Sticker Program beginning September 1, 2017.   HLL will have  stickers available in the Spring to certify those bats. Therefore, if you have a tee ball bat that is the appropriate size for your child, and your child will be playing in the Pre-K, Instructional or Single A leagues***, you do NOT need to purchase a new bat.
