Annual Coaching Clinic - Sunday, February 24 at 6pm
HLL Baseball and Softball head and assistant coaches, as well as any interested parents, are invited to join Hopkinton Little League for a Coaching Clinic hosted byHopkinton High School Varsity Baseball Coach Steve Simoes and his staff. The clinic will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 24 at the Hopkinton High School Field House and will run for approximately 1.5 hours.
Whether you have coached in the league for years or are a first time coach in tee ball, the clinic will cover a variety of topics from hitting and pitching techniques to game situations, and allow for Q&A. A breakout session for coaches of younger players will address issues particular to that group.
You will pick up tips on how to run and organize practices, implementing fun and worthwhile drills, and the latest theories on how to best prepare your baseball and softball players for the season ahead. Additional information will also be provided on rule changes, player evaluations, and coach conduct.
All individuals that have volunteered as a Head or Assistant Coach for 2019 are strongly encouraged to attend.
Please enter through the Athletic Center locker room doors, which are the green doors between the Middle School and High School buildings.
You do NOT need to preregister.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Even if you have been cleared for another volunteer organization, you must be cleared through this process for HLL!
And yes, a PRINTED HARD COPY is needed as all the forms need to be printed to ensure they are processed. You may bring a hard copy to the coaches clinic.
As required by Little League International, volunteers (head coaches, assistant coaches, on the field helpers, etc.) must complete an ANNUALvolunteer application.
You cannot be on the field at practice or in a game IN ANY CAPACITY (keeping scorebook, managing the bench, etc.) unless you fill out the volunteer application. Even if you have been cleared in previous years or for different sports, you still need to be cleared by HLL in 2019.
A copy of your driver's license (or other government ID), Social Security Number and 3 references are REQUIRED to process the application. References can include friends, co-workers, etc.; basically anyone that is willing and able to vouch for you. (One must be familiar with you in interacting/volunteering with kids.)

Meet our 2019 Boston Marathon Runner, Mike DelConte!
Hopkinton Little League is proud to announce that we will have an offical runner in the 2019 Boston Marathon, Mike DelConte from Franklin, MA!
I live in Medway, MA with my wife Amanda and 5 year olds twins, Anthony and Sloane. I work at the FW Webb Company as the Director of Sales. I graduated in 2002 from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in Business Marketing and later went on to get my MBA in International Management & Marketing at UMASS, Boston (2009). My running career is relatively short so far. I have actually done a lot more triathlons than road races. My first organized road race that I ever ran was the NYC marathon in 2013, since then I’ve run two others. I ran the Newport, RI marathon in 2016 and the Burlington, VT Marathon in 2017. I’ve always enjoyed outdoor activities and sports. I like to ski, hike, run, bike, etc. I’ve played Rugby for 16 years including 4 at UMASS Amherst.
The reason that I am doing this is that I played little league baseball growing up as a kid in Stoughton, MA. Playing baseball as a kid are some of my fondest memories. I think it is important to fundraise and give back to the community whenever possible. When I heard there was an opportunity to help out Hopkinton Little League and run the Boston Marathon, I said “sign me up” I’m in!
